The Feathered Frenzy Aviary is located in rural Southeast Illinois in Bridgeport. I am currently raising exhibition and pet cockatiels in all sorts of colors and rare mutations. I especially enjoy exhibiting cockatiels so I attend several shows around the country each year.
I am also raising green cheeked conures. I have yellow-sided, pineapple and have recently acquired two young pair of turquoise green cheeks. My friend Georgia Fletcher and I are partners in this venture as well as a newly purchased pair of Meyer’s Parrots and a pair of Congo African Greys.
Feeding, cage cleaning and just enjoying their company occupy a good portion of my time. I take their diet and health very seriously and work diligently to provide the best of both. Raising these birds has been a constant learning experience. I have learned a lot from other cockatiel exhibitors. Joining the National Cockatiel Society has been a real help. I also get a lot of good information from my veterinarians Dr. David Kersting DVM and Dr. Jennifer Cira DVM in the St. Louis area.
